Plot:
Trevelyan's sidekick / partner. 006 could not have come so far without him, but he was ultimately betrayed by Alec. He hoped for a share of the loot - his share was a bullet to the head.
Background:
'The next iron man of Russia.' He was the head of the Space Division for Russia, until he betrayed his country in hopes of enormous riches.

How Killed:
007 shot him, thus saving Natalya, but letting 006 escape. In effect Trevelyan killed him by leaving at the mercy of Bond.
Comments:
One of the more complex villains of the series, he decided to betray his country despite his high rank. Another significant moment was his questioning of Trevelyan when he discovered that he Alec was a Lienz-Cossack. He was also a boozehound, which added to his complexity. Was professional yet deadly, and often kept us at the edge of our seats.
